i think u need the wiring harness and the steering wheel. and the motor with the cable and the new TB plastic plate to put the cable in.

    SEARCH dammit!
And BTW, I'm tired of folks saying "don't just say search, take the time and just answer"
Look, this particular topic is already well covered, AND, was just asked in the last few weeks AND answered.
    Bill.

I've done this. Search for posts made by me. One of them will contain a list of parts.

I added OEM cruise control to a 1995LX with AT. It' won't be much different from your car. Don't get a generic aftermarket cruise control. Your car has all the empty spaces, mounting points, and wiring (except one small piece in combination switch) that it needs. You will learn a lot from removing the parts from cars in the junkyard.

zzyzzx, i searched for your name, found nothing, searched for you with some combinations of cruise control, nothing...
I wanted to put an OEM cruise from a junkie in my car...its a Sport SE, will a cruise control from an LX work?

yours is a 3rd gen im guessing. because if no then the cruise control form the Sport SE will not work in the 2nd gen. i heard that they are two different systems

You can use parts from any 1991-1996 Escort/tracer except the steering wheel has to be from another Escort just like yours (because of air bag/non air bag issue). You can even use the vacuum servo from almost any ford made for a certain age range. SE vs LX doesn't matter, almost all the parts from a GT will work too except for one of the vacuum lines under the hood is different for the 1.9L vs 1.8L

The 3rd gen cruise system is an electric servo. The 2nd gen cruise system is a vacuum system. If you can't get the one specific to your generation, it should be possible to put the other on there (minus the wheel like zzyzzx said)

Just an FYI for everyone about a problem I ran into on my 95 LX wagon:

Your car may or may NOT already have the wiring for cruise in it. If you don't see a square brown plug next to your coolant resivor or 2 grey rectangular plugs under your passenger kick panel, then you DO NOT have the wiring there and you're better off going with an aftermarket system. Thats a lot easier than trying to figure out wiring diagrams and fish wires through god knows where to get a factory system working.

Since my car didn't have the harness, thats exactly what I had to do. It took me a day and a half to do it and its totaly not worth the trouble.

Good point. Mine did have the square plug near the coolant reservior, so I assumed that all Escorts had it. Next time I'm in the junk yard I'm going to look and see if there is a type of Escort that typically doesn't have it (pony, maybe?).

Yes! That's it! Meaning that's the plug for the cruise control servo.

maybe the pony, i have a 91 pony and i know that there are a lot of unused plugs under the hood, i havn't looked for that one, but i'm willing to bet that it's there (i hope) if it's not, i'm not going to be a happy camper
