That sucks - I was wondering if that would make for a nice N/A motor, but I guess if the parts don't move, no good.

Let's stick this back towards the top. There have been questions about this.

What would happen if you put a 1.9 HO head on a 1.9 or SPI? If I remember right the HO has domed pistons.

Anyone know off hand what size socket to use on the 2.0L head bolts? Im going to snatch a 97 head/intake/fuel rail off on saturday at a pick n pull. Last year, i broke 3 regular sockets trying to get that head off but i forgot what size i used. This time, imma buy the stronger sockets used on air impact guns. Thx

The "SPI CONTROLLER" is where ever you put it. Its integrated into the ECU so if you are installing an SPI in a 2nd gen you will need to make your own.

found out its 13mm or 1/2 socket for head bolts. Anyway ill do a search on how to make this "SPI CONTROLLER". If i dont find anything, i shall be back to ask you experts. I didnt think i would need it if im just swapping the head/intake.

The SPI head on the 1.9 bottom end won't work right unless you are going to turbo the engine. The CR will be too low.

i realize that. I bought my turbo last wk. Im just getting all my parts together. Since ive joined this site ive read that the 2.0 head on the 1.9 bottom is the best combo. So if theres any other lil thing a take off that 2.0 engine, let me know. I want to do it right the 1st time.

Toss the 2.0L SPI rail and keep your old 1.9L fuel rail.

Nope, 1.9 rail doesn't fit the SPI intake manifold.
Only option is to use the 97 rail.

If nothing is hooked up to that port then you need to plug it. Everything that hooked up to the 3 way port on the top of the 1.9 should attach to the port on he side of the 2.0.
