'99 Escort zx2 Metallic Blue Hot Coupe with about 73,227 miles so far, right here. It needs work on the A/C(leaky compressor, tested), replace 2 tires(already replaced 2, now for the last 2), rear of right rear seat needs work(upholstery), headliner and such could be replaced, plus touch up on the paint on the rear bumper cover, But beyond that It works and sounds good. Cruise control works good(added after I got the car, Ford parts, Dealer installed in 2007)
44K on my 2002 ZX2 here. I bought her in 05' when she had 12993 miles on it. I think most of those miles were towed because an older coupled bought the car to tow behind a motor home. The engine compartment was super clean.
I had a '98 that I bought in 2000 for $6000. It had 54k when I bought it, and I sold it for $1200 about a year ago with 182k miles on it. When we needed to make ours a "two car" family again, I looked specifically for a ZX2. I just bought the lower-mileage twin a month ago with 86k miles, and I paid only $1900 (after tax and registration). Since I know the car will go another 100k miles, that comes out to less than $0.02/mile!!
I bought my 2000 in 2005 with 65,000 miles. It now has 209,000 miles. I have cleaned the idle air control valve, and replaced the timing belt. I also replaced the alternator at 100K.
For as little as I've put into this car, I cannot complain. My dad gave me his 99 ZX2 to keep as a spare, which had 245,000 miles. Our buddy needed a car, so sold it to him for $1000, and it's done him well so far!
Good little cars! If something catastrophic were to happen, I'd buy another one!
Bought my 2000 zx2 in 2002 with 35,000 miles on it. Eight years later it has 70,000 miles and has changed color from dark green to lamborghini orange. I have never owned a four cylinder automatic that has the get up and go this thing does. My daddy always told me don't buy a Ford but this car is a winner.
