Honestly, I´d take a 10.6 Escort over a 4.1 Viper anyday. Besides, my price range is around that of a new escort.

I saw that earlier this year on howstuffworks...but I wasn´t into my escort as I am now to have noticed that. By that graph they make the Escort look like a bad deal for performance-to-dollar ratio. I bet we could make scorts roughly just as fast as Corvettes, which are just a tad bit slower than Vipers. All I believe that you´d need is: a short throw shifter, a turbo giving you 250 wheel horsepower, and a 100 shot NOS. I believe that would bring us down to the Corvette Killing area. Yes...I can dream big and expensive. gives me something to look forward to.

I have this video where this guy is driving all the Lamborghini´s from the different decades. His in a part where he´s talking about the handling characteristics of the Countach, and he mentions that an Escort would leave it for dead on a winding road....I´m sure he ment Cosworth, but still....he did say Escort

Hey! Escorts compare after all!!!!!

Check this out: HP/Price:
Ferrari 2.8
Shelby 3.0
Lotus 4.2
Porsche 4.3
Viper 6.8
Mitsu 7.1
Vette 8.2
Escort 9.2!!!!!!!!

See, we´re onto something here with these scorts!
That´s for a 110HP scort too.

btw my 91 scort (88HP), which I paid way less than $12k for, scores an insane 38.2 HP/Price

Okay someone help with the numbers on this one:

I paid $3,998.32 american for my 93´ EGT with 44k miles on it. Everything was CHERRY! (I now have 102k, and have dents from idiots in parking lots, paint needs a BIG touch up etc.)

Anyhow, if I can get this thing screaming 14psi I´m hoping to hit 275hp I have all the parts just need tuning to do it.

Figure the numbers out with those givens, then figure it out again with 275hp and my total with performance upgrades being around $7,900 bucks.

And that´s my average after considering my loss in the project

Jason, your car stock was at about 31.3 HP/price.
Not bad!
When you get it to 275HP, with $11.9k in it that´ll actually be 23.1 HP/price. Actually went down, but money isn´t everything right!!!!
Alex, you tellin us your GT puts out 325HP? Wow, I´m in awe, man. What about torque steer? That must be tricky to launch!
