I was going snowboarding today and my heather just stopped working.

I played around a little bit and i found out only my when i put it to maximum

that the heather stops...

Anyone know what could be causing this?

The 1,2,3 work fine and the air is hot.

Why do i always have those weird problems!?

hehe anyway any reply will be apreciated

I had a similar problem with my wipers. They worked on high and low speeds, but not intermittent. Shop that fixed it thought it was the wiper motor, but found it was actually the switch (multi-function switch) that was bad.

Getting back to your problem, I´d suspect the blower motor switch is bad. The blower motor itself is fine, since it´s blowing on 1,2 & 3. The heater core and thermostat should be fine since you are getting heat. Before replacing anything, check all the connections on the backside of that switch to make sure no connections have come loose.
Hope this helps!

birddog is right.

I´ve worked on tactical aiming systems, and ones that have variable brightness (usually low end ones) have a rotating something that basically completes a circuit through an array of resistors. The "hottest" one would be the lowest resistance, most likely. You can tell cause it has that very notchy feel, as the lever sets into a groove that is assigned a certain resistor. I´d suggest taking this mothfo out (I think you need DIN tools- you can make these out of a coathanger) and then solder on a new resistor.

Blower fan works, that´s not the problem.

oh shoot I read your question wrong, I thought you were talking about the temperature setting.

The fan speed is the same way, just an array of resistors. I´m hoping to take mine apart some day and put in stealth 80mm fans with rheostat adjusters.

My heater core just went out about 3 weeks ago. The heater core is like a reverse radiator...the coolant flowing through it causes it to head the air being blown around. More coolant is allowed to flow the more you increase the level.

Its very possible your heatercore is clogged. Be VERY careful if it is. In my case the heatercore started leaking and flooded the ECU with coolant shorting it out (well I have it running but I dont trust it and I´m waiting on the new one to get here).

Heatercores are like 35 bucks from the parts store but like 300 in labor to get it installed in a shop....its a real pain in the @$$ to install.
