I'm not sure if there is already a topic about this, if there is please link.

When I start up my car (98 zx2), I get a strange rattle on the left side of my hood (left side from the drivers perspective). Then when I switch to neutral it quiets down to almost nothing. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the transmission working against the brakes and reving lower than it's supposed to? I don't know much about cars. Just how to change my brakes and oil so any help would be appreciated.

Could be that the engine mount under the battery tray is worn out. Don't worry before I started tinkering with my escort I really didn't know how to do much on a car. If you have a manual and research the job before hand it is not to bad to do anything on these cars.
