Ok, I hit a curb with the escort head on, at about 15 miles an hour.... down hill, direct hit with teh front end. Icy/snowy roads, pumped the brakes, turned the wheel, e braked, tried to power steer out of it, nothing... Right into it. I managed to get it to back up and move, but it shakes bad, and the tranny skid plate hangs extremly low now... What did I bend/break, and is it totaled (I'm guessing yes).

then maybe you tagged part of the frame and it threw the wheels out of alignment.

Does it shake all the time or when you get up to a certain speed?

it shakes bad at idle, and extremly violent when you try to move it at any speed above 10 mph. I cant tell whats bent, but something important has been seriously a88pounded.

if u hit the lower rad support then u probably bashed in the front motor mount which is making it shake! when I got tinto my accident I just missed the motor mount and hit the other truck on the oposite side of my rad support, so I would check that front mount!

I'm going with the mount as well.

Don't feel bad. Last week I pulled into our lot at work (on my day off) at an extreme angle cuz the driveways are so steep. I had no idea it was an unmaintained lot. It was sheer ice. If you stood still, you'd slide down the hill.

A girl that lives there had tried to go to work 30 mins earlier and had slid down the hill 3 spaces. She managed to back out a few feet though putting her out of the space.

You guessed it, I tagged her. In front of her BF. Felt like such a moron, me with studded tires. At least she wasn't in the car. If the damn car hadn't been there, I would have slid right past his van.

Every little thing that could have been wrong that morning was. <sigh>

Fortunately my little light bar that Tim made is sweet, not a scuff on the EGT. ;)

Wouldn't hurt to get your alignment checked as well.

Update... Now that its daytime, I can see a little better and I believe I pushed the front radiator support back into the motor mount and its binding, causing the vibration. If you get the Revs up above 2K, it goes away, Its just really bad bellow that. Runs and drives fine, no pull or shimmy. Alignment seems to be ok. The skid pan is screwed. I'm taking it in for an estimate sometime this week. If all else fails and it is totaled I'm going to get a new skid pan, anchor the rear of the car to a big tree in my front yard, and attatch a come-a-long to teh front tow hook on the side I hit, and pull the radiator support back out untill the skidpan lins back up.

Hey my car does the same thing, it was involed in a head on accident also. From what I hear people tell me its the mounts. One thing I do so it doesnt vibrate while idling is to put the car into nuetral at stop lights, but that doesnt make the problem go away......
