Welcome to the forum. You are the only member I have seen that is from the North Island. You folks have the Escorts that are like the ones in the UK I think: right hand drive, metric numbers on the speedo. ?? We never see those in the U.S., but I would like to think your Escorts would get really good gas mileage, in MPG or Km/L.
There is a gent on the South Island I sometimes exchanged advice with about his Vintage U.S. made motorhome. He imported it from the U.S.A. - and it was left hand drive. He converted it to right hand drive, and I think he said this was a requirement in order to license it. Do you know if that is the case?
I have seen some fairly nice looking cars in Mexico that can -Not Ever- be imported into the U.S.A. because they werent manufactured to meet the U.S. Dept of Transportation standards and the Clean Air Act (emissions stuff). I wonder about the right hand drive Escorts from places like Japan, the U.K. and the southern hemisphere.
