First of all let me introduce my self. The name is Lou... Hard to guess huh? I´m from Miami and drive a 99´ Ford Escort LX.
You all seem to be good at giving each other good useful information here, which is something that I hear is hard to come by in some forums. Soo... as a newby let me take advantage of this and ask a couple Q´s...

Any one else here from Miami?

Any one else have the same gen car I do?

Are any of you thinking about converting you Escort into a "lowrider" (I see a few of you are pretty "ricy", no offence)? If so please let me know what your set up looks like so I can get ideas on how to fit all that crap into that litle trunk....

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I´m looking foward to a reply from you guys... :-]

Welcome aboard . I`m not able to answer most of your questions but I can say that if you read the forums you willrecieve answers to most of your questions , as well as get a chuckle out of the crew. It`s a good group they even make an older owner like me feel that I can have a car that really shreds too . My escort is a black 2002 S E .I`m wanting to put a spoiler on (but not the one Ford recomends) and alloy wheels , then we`ll do the stereo. Welcome to the FEOA from a fellow rookie . :-D

Lou, welcome to FEOA!
If you want to look up information, go over to "search in the forums" on the left side of your screen. Enter in anything, like say "suspension","lowering",or"Florida" and hit Return. It´ll take you to all the posts previously entered that have mentioned those things. Yeah, should get you some answers, and do prepare to be entertained too!

Lou,

I don´t know of any other lowrider folks here. However that doesn´t mean much with 800 some registered people!

What are you hoping to do with it? depending on what you want to fit in the trunk (I´m guessing you mean hydros)... You could always do an airbag setup. take less room. obviously you don´t get the nifty moves with it though.

I´m more of a hardcore race only guy (in other words all go and no show hehe) but we welcome everyone. it would be interesting to see a lowrider buildup.

Thanks for the feed back! And yeah as for your question egtdude... I am planning on putting I Hydros and tiny 13" rims (I know there not that much smaller than stocks but w.e) The trick I´m looking for is how the hell to fit in three pums and still have room for my presious bass! The car is currently white but right after the rims (next week ill get them hopefuly) I´ll be getting a new paint job from white to chameleon.

Ohh by the way.... I can´t get bags dude... "Bags are for ****" lol
No offence if any....

If you cant drive it, smoke it, shoot it, or make money off it, i dont want it.

hell yeah put your pumps and batteries where your back seat is. Good place to show them off at. I knew a kid who did that with his nitrous bottle and it looked good. I just don´t know how good a scort would do with hydros? would be really awsome to see. How many switches you gonna have?

And welcome aboard by the way.

I think it would look bad ass! I´ve seen a Toyota Tercel and Mitsubishi Mirage with Hydros, and Escorts with Bags... They actualy move pretty nice and look good... As for how many switches im not too sure cause i dont even know if im gonna get two or three pumps.... :-( But hey Step by step... By this month my 13´ chrome standars (little rims) and in a few months my chameleon paint job... Damn i can just picture it...

I did take offense to that "bags are for **** comment" why would I put out the money or time to install juice in my presious car? I like the idea of bags they seem to work better and are less expensive then juice. are you going to make the unibody one frame or not, I would suggest having it seam welded and having the body welded together, thats if you decide to go nuts with the juice. I used to have a 87 with juice, you talk about one horrible ride. God it ratteled my ballz all the time and almost knocked out a couple of teeth on the highway, hit a bump and the damn thing would pancake on the ground.. scrap... thats why I love bags no give.. and if they do give they will have enough pressure to hold you up so you wont eat the hell outa the bottom of your car....

dont get mad, but this is how I feel

Ahhh... don´t worry I dont take offence easily... Sad to hear bout your formerly juiced car.... Was it a Hopper? What kinda frame it have? Maybe thats why it "rattled".... Im not planning to make mine a hopper cause like you said I´d have to redo the whole frame.... Just a simple set up for me... As for price and cuality granted bags are cheaper, but... you get what you pay for man! They react ALOT slower than Hydros and not to mention that damn compressor noise is annoying as hell... Im not even gonna get into the diffrence in battery charging... Damn air bagged cars here (Miami) look like R/C cars before the car shows, fighting over electrical wall outlets.... I dunno, I guess it just boils down to what you wanna do with the car...

Anyways... Good to see some one else besides me in here that aint trying to make there car an "Escort-rarri"
Again... no offence intended to any... :-]
