Hey everyone - I'm Shana out in the frigid arctic-wastelands of Michigan. Just signed up on the forums and saw the introductions thread, so I figured I'd stop in and say hay to everyone!!

lol Not really looking for any info atm - Just decided to sign up....I know my way around motors pretty well - I started wrenching on my Grandpa's poS10 when I was 12 and got hooked on it and never stopped xD

hey welcome! you got any plans on upgrading the EGT you got?
i must suggest the K-code VAF, E-cam swap,timing advance. all great mods to do.

Agrowagon, I havent yet simply because of money - moving around and running a few vehicles costs too much...Boooooooo

Lowetgt, I actually just shot a post out on your rare/special thread lol - I'll be posting pics of the GT+Me.....or just the GT....or just me.....or something ><;;; Soon as I get off my butt and go take them/find someone to take them =)

Welcome, Pics are golden around here, so post away!

I am the proud owner of a 1994 LX (modded out) and a stock (see: Sleeper) Cayman 91 EGT and I am new to the whole mazda game as well.

At any rate, PICS! I love to see other peoples ideas on modifications and make my own...'twist' if you will to my own.

Welcome to FEOA, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask, as I have a couple different certifications from my time as a Ford service tech (mostly electrical)!

Lol nothing outstanding yet - Death_Scort; pretty much all stock...pics are golden on most forums :p I'll admit - New to the 'Scort scene - Its kind of strange, I was used to Big blocks for a long time, so this is a nice lil change of pace ^^;

Yeah, same here, except with small blocks :) but a scort was my very first car, and I paid 500 bucks for it, (not the one I have now) and I am working on getting number 3.

Apparently it is this big secret! Essentially it is a porting of the intake along with removing a restrictive bar that is in the intake runner to the VICS runners. I have yet to do it because I can't have mine down long. I was supposed to be getting an intake as settlement on another deal, but haven't seen that yet. I want to "cut" that one and freshen it up and have it ready to bolt it.

Same here Jer, I would rather get an intake off of one at the JY and do all the necessary steps and just unbolt and bolt it in.

multiple cars ftw.....we're debating selling my bf's GT or using it as a parts car for mine....92, same setup - bodys relatively clean but its not running atm - some sort of electrical problem...and I hate dealing with that spectrum x.x

CUT INTAKE MANIFOLD MOD THE ESCORT92MAN WAY

I won't ask for money, just do it to your car and enjoy it like I do, I have talked to BPT323, owner of CP.com, and he said this mod I did will help but isn't FULLY what he does, but he said it'd give you a boost of a few HP, not bad for goofing around with a grinder for 45 min

here you go, at least do this part!

cut that bar out so it looks like that, very simple

now grind the intake ports to match the gasket which will match the head!



NOW the big part that is hard, grind this wall down till it comes about to the floor of the intake



now I wasn't done in this pic yet just decided to snap it while I was kinda clean lol, then make sure you clean your intake out with an engine foam to clean all the **** and shavings outta it, wash it out with water, blow it out with compressed air, new gaskets, and enjoy the power and feel when VICS dump open, you will feel it! in the rain if I open it up in 2nd around 3k rpm it'll climb to 4,500 rpm and then it spins the tires, both, lol it's fun

so that's the escort92man way to do that right there, while you have the fuel injectors out to get the intake off make sure you go ahead and toss in some kia injectors that flow a bit more at the higher rpm and have a better spray pattern ;)

(copied and pasted from the 1.8 section :D) anywho that's my way. I can feel the gain in my pants when I step in it so it does something.
