Does anyone know if escort MK3/MK4 rear shocks fit/are compatible with gen 1 escorts?

I have located some UK shocks on eBay and Burton. Any info or advice is greatly appreciated. Let me know on what you think about the shocks I located below.

If you get them, be sure to add to this thread so we know how it works out.

I checked that ebay listing, it's a bit odd in that it includes this demand:

Following Information Must Be Provided After Purchase:

  • Vehicle Registration OR CHASSIS Number
  • A Contact Number
  • Full Vehicle Details
I don't think I'd give them that info.

I ended up finding some OEM rear shocks on eBay so I went with those instead of the others. I forgot to mention on my initial post that I was looking for rear shocks for a 87 escort wagon GL.

I did contact both Burton (Keith Richard Turner) and the eBay seller (Usman). Burton informed me that the mk3/4 rear shocks are not meant for wagon/estate. Also the ebay seller after providing all the info, they couldn't clearly identify whether or not the shocks would be compatible so they informed me not to buy.

I lowkey have a feeling that these shocks could work but it would require some modification.

It would be nice if summit racing/KYB could offer these shocks again...
