ok so, i got my engine in 1.8 miata head 1.8 protege bottomend..anyway it starts but doesnt wanna idle, new plugs wires o-rings for the injectors, cap rotor fuel filter, pretty much everything. ok so it starts, you gotta give it some gas to keep it from stalling. untill like 2500 rpm theres some popping comin from it. and its real rough. i cant get it to idle good enough to jump 10 and grd. in the diagnosis box so ive been slowly turning the distributor. could my rotor be on the wrong slot? i was thinking either that or my cat is bad, maybe exaust manifold gasket? i dunno please gimmie whatever opinions you have thanks for the replys!

ok well see, it runs well minus the popping n stuff and see, i took my cone off my intake and when it pops air comes back out just a split second, thats why i think that i have somethin up with my cat. my friend had the same problem with his gti before. i have another iac chillin here somewhere ill try and change it and see if that helps at all. another thing i noticed the throttle body from the protege well, the tps sensor is way diffrent. the egt one on the throttle body im using, has 3 prongs in it the protege one has 4. i belive the engine was bolted to a automatic trans. does tat matter? thanks alot man
