Hello everyone. My mother had a brand new 1981 Ford Escort L in black with red interior. It was a good little car and I grew up with that car. I would like to fine a model I can build for her or a decent diecast of the car, pics, etc. I looked on Ebay and did not find much at all and Youtube for videos. Thanks for the help.

not sure what wal-marts stock is like in your area, but they had these little 1:89 scale models of the usdm 1981 models in the hot wheels isle they came in little clear display cases. theres a few different makes and models of cars in the series. i bought 2, a blue and a white. their about $4.00

I found the diecast you're talking about on ebay. I bought a red 1981. The brand is Fresh Cherries. And it was $4.92 at Wal-Mart when I saw them. I paid $5 for mine on ebay.

I have some that come in a standalone box/case that are called "Fresh Cherries" made by the same company. Got a red hatchback and a black Tempo from a friend a few years ago. They're only about 1.5" long, but still pretty well detailed and painted. Wal-Mart here sold them.

ive been looking for so long man. i also wanted to do the same thing. theres one...its one of those build it yourself model kits that you put together with model cement and paint yourself, but its a 2nd gen wagon. i think its 1:24 scale or something along those lines. ive only ever seen 2. one on ebay a long time ago, and one in the hobby shop, also a long time ago. if anyone finds a link please post it.
