Hello everyone, I've just signed, but have been browsing the board for a while now.

It's a nice site you have here, I find it very interesting to see how different the US Escorts are to the European Escorts. :)

I drive a 1995 Escort RS2000. Here's a few pics for you all to look at:-

Big Up, Big Bob! Welcome!

That sir, is a very nice Escort indeed. It reminds me of a 2dr Mondeo (Contour here in the USA) The seats look very supportive, although leather and wood trim is not my deal, looks very upscale and snazzy. Nice job with the tunes too. Clean, simple, functional.

While i wouldn't know one from another, looks like you've done the basics, stereo, wheels, lights, grille....what else ya got going on there?

Oh and BTW, how long did ya have to wait for that sunny day

Thanks a lot man. Just when I was starting to feel excited about my car again, you show me pictures of that absolutely GORGEOUS car and make me jealous again of the British Escorts. :p

I want some leather seats...so comfy...yet hot in the summer. Anyway, welcome to feoa. Glad to see another enthusiast from across the pond. :D

Thank you all for the warm welcome. :D I'll try and answer your questions.

The seats are the original Recaro seats re-trimmed in leather, they are very supportive, one of the best makes of seats around in my opinion, all though I'm a little too big for them. Im not keen on the wood dash either, that was put in by the previous owner. Im gonna be replacing it as soon as I can.

Other than the above, it has a Scorpian exhaust with the catalytic convertor removed, K&N 57i induction kit, FSE Boost Valve, and some medium coloured tints. I'd like to concentrate on improving the power now, but it's all down to the greens.

Whats the horsepower on that beast?
The RS2000 come with only 150bhp as standard, although I had mine on the Rolling Road (dyno) at the begining of June when it was pushing out 160bhp, which is quite good for the basic mods so far.

Oh and BTW, how long did ya have to wait for that sunny day
It's seems like a life time!

Tell you what, I'll take your Scort with the wood trim and you can have my Scort with just a bunch of wood in it. :thumbleft:
It is just a basic black with a little texture to boot. I wouldn't care if your car was bright pink w/ fuzzy panels......I would park it in my driveway!!

Actually my SPL has went up since last time. The last highest metered score to date is a 150.6 that I did at the dB Drag in Grenada, MS's "Thunder On the Water Festival" on June 14th 2003.

Im pretty sure my install wont be anywhere near as loud as your's rascal  , Im only running 2 x 10" Alpine subs, 4 x Alpine 6x9's and 2 x Alpine V12 Amps. It's more aimed at quality than loudness.

The Mkv Register club in the UK had small sound off competition earlier this year check it out here http://www.fordescort.info/soundoff_march_2003.htm, I think some of them have improved a bit since then, so for the next one Im sure there will be some higher scores. Although I was unable to attend so I dont know how mine would compare.

Hi Big Bob!! Good to see you here. Great site: more from MkV should come and have a look.
Hello Foxy, fancy meeting you here.

8O 8O 8O Holy Crappo.

I'm running 2 5 1/4 Pioneers (120w each) in the doors, 2 5x7 Pioneers (120w each) in the hatch and a single MTX 200w 10" sub w/ an MTX 150w (bridged) amp powering it. That's loud enough for me, and I bet yours will murder me SQ/SPL every day. Of course, mine sounds awesome to me, and that's all that matters.

Welcome to FEOA. I must say that is one sic ass Escort you got there. VERY NICE!! You said you have some more upgrades you gonna do...what do you have in mind? thumbs up on a badass Escort
What I'd like to do is get the head ported and polished, fast road cams fitted. Eventually maybe even go for a 2.3 conversion (using the engine from a Galaxy), with all the above your looking at between 185bhp and possibly over 200bhp. Not bad for a N/A car. :D But it all cost's money. I'm still not sure about the 2.3 conversion. A couple of guys have already done this, but it's taken a long time to get all working correctly.
