You need to talk to Marcus (stripedMx) He´s actually pulled off a headlight conversion with BMW headlights. It looks amazing.

check out pics of them on my website:

As far as fogs....anything will work. Head to the autoparts store and you can get aftermarket ones. I personally want ones with blue parking lights.

Speaking of the BMW headlight conversion, how well would that work with my car (´95 LX). I´m more concerned about changing the lights, then having to change the hood... you know how it goes.

Also, how accurate is the alignment for that setup? Would it be hard to change (just in case)?

Oh, and if anyone wants to assemble the headlights for me and then ship them to me, you would be compensated quite well.

Of course, this would have to take place around March of 2003 since I won´t have any money until then.

It should work in the same manner on your LX, Paul. The hood/bumper/headlight arrangement is basically the same as the GT, so your hood will be just fine. As for the alignment, I am still refining my design, so it is adjustable, though not easily done. When the headlight pattern is aligned correctly, the lens on the BMW unit does not match the hoodline, parking light, or grill angles very closely, so aesthetically, the best arrangement would be to eliminate the BMW lens and use the clear GTS covers. For my purposes, however, I am sitcking with the BMW lenses. I like the cold air induction between the bumper and the headlight.

No other pics just yet. I have been too busy with travelling, the holidays and other car projects. Just finished a full suspension on a ´93 Miata, which took up my extra time. I plan on getting back to playing with the lights, but since their pattern is so far superior to stock, I have not been stressed about getting the alignment perfect. The bracketry looks pretty rough, so eventually, I would like to refine my work. As with so many projects, however, once you get it working correctly, you tend to put off the final finishing touches. If I think of it, I will try to get some more pics to Blade and let him post them for me.

Holla. $#%#$, Marcus I just about fell out of my chair... .

That is just amazing, how you pulled it off. Did you ever get the other one done too ?

Now if you could do some thing with the corner light ( blinker) making it truly clear, to match

whoa... awesome.
I personally thought clear corners were a far cry from really cool...

this takes the cake. I love it.
what are all the cars that have similar headlight configurations to that of the LX/GT?

There is another escort that I know of that has the headlight conversion done to it. This guy on 808rides.com has a BMW conversion done. However he changed the hood, bumper and fenders to pull it off. Infact when looking at his scort I dont think a single body panel was left untouched....its really quite amazing to see that it even still looks like an escort

Hey blade! Do you know where he got all the stuff to do that like the bumper, hood, fenders or did he have to have it custom made because i would be really intirested in something like that. Thanks
