i bought this JVC hed unit and a wiring harness. Well, the part of the harness for the battery, the accessory, and the ground did not connect properly. So I'm just gunna hardwire it. But, I need to know about 4 wires that went into the wiring harness. There's a light green/yellow wire, a yellow/black, light blue/red, and a orange/black wire. If anyone knows what wires on my head unit will match those on my '89 escort lemme know please.

If you go look up the .pdf for the JVC head unit you have, they will tell you all the wiring locations you need.

If you look in the back of the haynes manual for the 1st gen escort, they will tell you all the wire assignments.

And if you're hardwiring, make sure you solder the wires. Crimp connections are sub-standard for audio purposes.

i dont know how to read the diagram in the haynes manual.
You don't need to KNOW anything for what you're doing. Just look at the colors of the wires and where they go. That's all you need to know. The color designations are listed in a legend on the page prior to the beginning of the wiring diagram section.
