If the GTX motor will fit with no problems, does that also go for the trans as well. Are the gears in the trans any different (smaller/bigger)because at 120 mph the tach is at 6200rpm and after I do the motor swap to the GTX I would like to have more top end speed and not be limited by the stock escort trans with no overdrive.

The GTX was AWD so the tranny wont work in the FWD escort. And converting to AWD is quite a long and expensive job.

Being from the chicago area, where would be the best place to find a GTX motor, ecu , turbo,etc. to perform the swap? I don´t need it yet, but when the powertrain warranty runs out, ill have a good reason!!!

You´ll have to put in the GTX gas tank cause it´s a double sump for the driveshaft. The rear suspension bolts directly in though!
