Sometimes you just have to run what is available and cheap at the time. Sure a 1.8 would be sweet, but finding one cheap isnt easy. I run a 2.0 SPI, why? Cuz it came in the car and the whole car cost me $50.

    why the 1.9L?

Same here, the car came with it. Find me a free 1.8 engine, trans, and electronics, and I will be happy to run it.

I had five of them but sold some of them hehe. I still have 3 engines trans and 2 gt's. Get the trans welded so both wheels pull, any trans shop could do it. and there are about 15 gt's that run at my track and everyone has like 2 parts cars but I can never find a gtx damnit.

    yo

Just thought i would make my presence here. Im running an 88 gt this year in Bakersfield, Ca at local 1/3 mile dirttrack. Having a great time building and testing it. The division is MiniStock. Like the name implies were supposed to run plain stock. I ran an inconsistant 20 sec lap at the practice track a friend of my grandfather owns.. 4 seconds better than 3 weeks ago. I will post pictures soon. I just painted it a couple days ago. Orange, just like my grandpa's '57 chevy he used to race in the 60 and 70's.
