Hello everyone. The name is Scotty and have just recently purchased (read yesterday, 08/25/10) a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 and just wanted to say hello.
A little introduction...
I am 26 almost 27 and married 2 years now. I am a senior at Marshall University in Huntington, WV and am studying Computer Science. My main hobbies include my car, no matter what I am driving, car audio, everything computers, and when I have time I follow the Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco 49ers.
I am not a native of WV but it has grown on me these last 14 years. That is when I moved from the great state of Texas. Born in the West Texas Desert and moved all over the state, including Dallas, before I moved here with my family in 1996.
About the car...
Not really too much to tell about the car right now. It is silver in color with a 5 speed and has no major body damage, just a little bubbling of the pain in one spot.There is 106k miles on the motor and everything feels great: brakes, engine, transmission, clutch. Everything is completely stock and the immediate mods just include the audio. I am completely sold on Cadence Audio and that is what I run. You wouldn't believe the looks I get when I tell people that the total RMS of my system is 800 watts. That includes competition 5.25" components running off of a 200 watt 2 channel amp and 2 12" subs running off of a 600 watt amp.
A side note about how I got the car...
I got this car because someone decided not to stop behind me when I was trying to turn down a road in downtown Huntington. I was driving a 2005 Ford Focus ZX4 and it was my baby. Still to this day I have no clue who hit me and the cops didn't look either. That was November of last year. So far the ZX2 has just as good handling and just as much power as the Focus did. Of course when the ZETEC motor was basically the same as the first gen Focus I didn't expect much difference, even though I had a second gen with the updated Duratec in it.
