I decided to go back to the yard where I got my front seats and snagged the matching rear seat. Like the front seats, it´s also a direct swap into the scort. Here´s what it looks like:

I´ll post another pic once I get it installed. ~Mike

I was lucky enough to find both the front and rear seats at a local junkyard here in WA. They were both kinda wet from the rain, and also dirty, so I was able to snag both the fronts for $50 and the rear for $40. I figured $90 is a good deal, wet or not. They cleaned up perfect and look damn near brand new now. ~Mike

Mike I was thinking about those so called gaps. There is suposed to be polyurethane foam in the can. You can use it as a filler. Take cloth off clean the spots you need to fill then spray poly on that spot. Spray it as much as you need then let it dry. You´ll maybe haveto mod a cloth. But it shoulnt´d be that hard.

Yeah.....take out the side panels on either side of the seat...and build it up with "spray can foam".

Carve it to shape

Then glass over it

then fabric cover the whole panel with material that is the same color/texture as the seats.

Similar to making kickpanels

It´s just an idea

I got my rear seat as well. Unfortunatly Some [email protected]#@#%$% already took buttom pillow:( So I left with only back support pillow. I have to wash cloth and ut it back. BTW. I noticed rear seat belts on mx3 (LOL I getting this poor mx3 totally apart:)) are mounted on the top of strat towers. It´s kinda cool. Also dash board part (where shifter and parking break) looks much nicer then escort one. Actually whole dash board can be swapped.
) Also front mx3 fenders (more wider then escort)they are almost perfect fit. Also door panels´ are almost the same as 2 door escort. (MX3 ones are much nicer).

Yeah you´re right about the mx3 interior. Almost the whole thing looks like it can swap. I was going to pick up an entire interior to swap, but at the moment I don´t have the time or money since I just bought an 88 323 turbo. I´m still keeping the scort, but it may eventually get sold
. Of course you guys get first dibs on all the stuff if it does, but don´t count on it anytime soon. ~Mike

Since most Mazda platforms used the same tilting mechanism for the driver´s seat as ours, I assume the MX-3 is the same. My question is, does the passenger´s seat have the same mechanism. I have always wanted to be able to tilt the passenger seat in the same fashion, but assumed that only the right-hand drive markets would have it.

Just curious

The seats from any year MX3 would fit. THe earlier years (91-93 I think) have the seats I got, and the later models have one with a seperate head rest. I am not sure about the seat tilting, but the drivers seat I got doesn´t even tilt.

I know it might be expensive but i work at a place called Fox Valley Motorcars( ad can be found in the Dupont Registry) anyways we sell Quvale Mangusta and since those cars are practically $90 thousand dollar mustangs they use everything from ford. I ws looking at the steering wheel ang noticed that it will fit on the scort, and you can even use the air bag and cruise if equipped. The wheel ring is supplyed from Antera. It´s kinda like a Sparko or Momo piece.

So you guys are saying that Mazda MX-3 Seats (of any year) can fit on my 94 LX? And they´re basically plug and play? Also, whats with the "drivers seat not able to tilt"? If so, does the passenger seat tilt? OH..one more stupid question (i´m such a newbie) whats with the plug under the front seat anyways? What does it "power"?

Wow you dug up this old post! Yes, any MX3 seats will swap into your ´94 scort. If you go to my webpage (link in sig) then I have a how-to on the seat swap and some pics so you can see the seats. The fronts are a direct bolt in and the rears require minor mods which I show in the how-to. The plug under the seat is just the seatbelt sensor that makes the beeper and light turn on/off when you first get in the car. The tilting I am talking about is making the front of the seat raise and lower so it supports your legs better. My seats didn´t come with that but I am pretty sure some of them do.
