Well i got it running and tuned, its 11.5-12.5 wot on 10 psi right to 6000 rpm, but it still starts to ping around 8 psi . Right now i cant control timing anybody else have any ideas. maybe its the plugs im using? maybe its because i can only get 91 octance? i know its a long shot but im going to go buy some octance booster later ill put a few bottles in try and make like 93-94 octance just to try it out

right now i have ngk tr5-1 plus in it 90 degree v grove bs.

Okay well looks like ill need the edis module for the stock 1.9,

What about distubutors, can you control timing with them ( thinking about the first gen head swap )

You can control base ignition timing. Kinda. It's imprecise, but give it a shot.

Turn it all the way retarded and see if that helps you at all. I can't guarantee anything, i'm not all that smart with these cars yet.

i plan on lowering the compression ratio with the 1.6 head, and if possible knock back timing with the dizzy

Erg i hate everyone shitting on me, Im trying... Im the unlucky bastard with the 96 escort, I DO NOT HAVE AN EDIS MODULE, the 96 does not come with one. I had a plan with the 1.6l head and a dizzy because it would lower my cr to 8:1 thus for letting me run more boost.

I bought the ms. so i could tune my afr to proper boost running abilities. piggy back isnt what i wanted because it uses the maf. i was able to convert to the map sensor .

And on that note, i checked all the local junkyards, they only stock 96+ , so once again i missed out on an edis. I had a deal with silex ( i belive ) he was going to sell me one an di never herd from him since.

RIgh tno i have a bigger issue on hand, i cant conrtol my crank case pressure very well. i have a blocking plate on the stock pcv valve location because im using a rs manifold and it gets in the way. i have a 5/8 hose from the valve cover to a catch can and the other side to the pipe before the turbo. so now im trying to vent the return line for the oil in the oil pan to the catch can also. ohh well deal with shit as it comes.

I dont think there is anything physically wrong with the engine, i just belive i have a nice bit of crank case pressure. it will push the dipstick out and squirt out oil.

The turbo life hates me :)

I seen those a few times, Only thing is i dont really spending the extra 50 bucks on all the parts i dont need, coil, 36 tooth ring crank sensor wires etch i just need the module. And i have a 1.6l, fuel rail, intake , dizzy tb and head gaskets on the way :D

Im going out of town this weekend so im going to be looking for an edis module for something to do

ps. im not trying to sound like a dick or anything. it just takes alot of money to get stuff from the states for me, shipping is usually 50-100 dollars for a 5-10 pound package and 20-50 dollar when it shows up duty charges ,

Newfoundland canada is not the place to be

Will do, Right now i have the valve cover vented to the catch can with a 5/8 line and the other side of the catch can on the intake side of the turbo so it should be in vacuum all the time. maybe i need more venting?

dude, don't you have any friends just on the other side of the line? lol ship the parts to them and have them bring em on up. :D
