alright. i am going to the bone yard later. a couple of questions first.

1.) what year miata would i be able to pull the cams out of? and how much more power would i have?

2.)what do i want to look for, performance wise, that i can put in my car? 1991 escort gt.

any and all responses would be appreciated.




oh, and where can i find out how to do the rx7 air flow meter swap?

Dayum... you've got miatas in your junkyard? All we have are old escorts (lol - all LX's of course) and buicks and chryslers and other crappy shitboxes like that...

Take your camera and snap shots of cars you think may have potential. Take some pics of those miatas too :)

The RX-7 VAF mod is definetly something to look out for if you haven't done that already...

ahh....gotta love those u pulls. at the one i'm at, trannys are 75bucks, turbos and intercoolers are 30 a piece. heads are 45 bucks...and the best thing is. they all have core prices and come w/ a 30 day warranty. I always hit that place up. James, i'm doin what u did, i got me a head, sent it to napa and gettin it dipped in acid and polished for 40 bucks. Next i need to go get the rebuild kit. How much do those usually run? If my head is pretty much shot, can i re use the lifters? Basically, i burn 2 qts of oil every 1000 miles. I ran the car out of timing about a week last summer so i think it burned my valve seals and i have detonation rattle so thats pretty much why i'm rebuilding head. But yeh, waht are prices for a rebuild kit for a 92gt and what does it come w/? I've got a copper gasket for 55 bucks, just need the rebuild kit now.

no no you're doing what I still have yet to do myself. I need to pull the valves and springs out myself, then i'll be shipping it out, along with my block (which still needs to be torn apart) to C&P Machine here in town :wink:
