Been off the forums for a while, but cruising once again and let me tell you, I love the bp motor, but holy hell god dang those are some awesome numbers! Theorhetically, if you run twice the pressure in the cylinders it is like running twice the cubes, but if that is the case, you are running somewhere close to 5 liters worth of NA engine, but you will find very few 5 liters pushing those figures. Right the hell on man. Why did he do it? Cause he could.

Fucking hell, man, those are some good numbers....makes me wish I could get my project off the ground, and see how far an early 1.9/1.6 combo will go.

nice numbers! that is up there with teh d series over on hmt.com doing over 400 in both hp and trq.

there are a few bps that make over 400trq. you say that like the bp is a torqueless motor. its the b series honda that is torqueless. the bp stays pretty level with its hp numbers. i think the CS drag car was 450hp 390 trq. that is pretty dam good considering the turbo it had.

The bp motors do make about even amount of torque with the horsepower, everyone that I have seen anyways. Its just Dohc motors produce more hp than torque. Hondas just arent a torqy motor to start with. If you every really watch a honda launch from the hole it isnt really fast until it reaches high rpms and then it goes. Their rpm band is up there.

It is awesome to see a CVH making big HP numbers. How do you get traction? It must be a scary ride.

I would love to have seen an engine build thread showing what was done.
    2.2 liter - overbore?
What was done to the cylinderhead - porting? flowtests? camshaft?

    Love to know the details.

the spi is a 2.0 to begin with so i don't think its an over bore

Yep, he mentioned before about boring out a 2.0 block. I'm amazed it's held up, I thought the cylinder walls would be too thin. I love being proved wrong when things turn out right.

the 2.2 is a stroker with a customer crank iirc. i'm sure he went with a standard overbore size piston as well.

You are right. As far as being an over bore and the walls being too thin, not so true. The motor is holding up strong with everything that I throw at it. I dont really drive her much doo too the large injectors I keep fouling plugs out every 2 weeks. Until I have time to adjust the idle and cruise map in megasquirt I just drive her on the weekend. I have a new project that is taking up my time.
