ok today i was at the local race spot in south chicago and i raced this like 95 or aroun there civic and i freekin lost. man im so pissed he won by like 1 car length on a quarter mile . this was so gay this kid was bull [email protected] out his [email protected]@ sayin he had a turbo and all this crap and a intercooler intake wich ended up to no turbo and a cone filter. man i need power quick. what can i do to my 89 egt for power. i have a k&n but its the one u put in stock air box. i cut the box a little . i need tips quick for revenge. pleez help

Well the first thing you can do is get rid of the tiny hose that connects the VAF to the throttle body. That is the BIGGEST power drain on that engine. I got some flex hose from the local parts store. Then I ripped out my windshield washer resevior and moved my VAF to the space where the resevior was to make a cold air intake. It actually worked quite well. After that, yanking off the huge restrictive muffler from the back is the next must. I put a Cherry Bomb on mine. It cost like 15 bux and it has nearly no restriction. Sounds decent too. That alone will give you a few extra HP. If you want to go a little further I put an MSD 6AL ignition box on my car, and I put Ford Motorsport 9mm wires on it as well. Or if you really want to get some more HP you can do what I´m planning to do next amd drop a 2.0 Zetec engine in the car. I just bought it today, and am hoping that there won´t be too much trouble putting it in.

If its 95 or newer it could of been a VTEC...if it was congrats...if not, its okay. The 1G GT´s aren´t all balls out....dont push performance, but seriously if you want power cheap and quick, n2o really is the way to do it. Just be smart about using it, dont let a soul know you´re using it, and make sure you can up your fuel and retard your timing under shot.
