tonight has been a glorious night.....

i final got to buy my new ´91 lx.....sooooo good...

drove her home, the exhaust is a little loud, but, it´s nice....i accidently got into the wrong lane, so i had to throw on my blinker, down shifted outta third, into second......and took off behind my dad.....than i merged onto 79, and decided to see what she can handle.....oooo i loved it, got behind a slow chick .....in 4th down the on ramp......and punched it....flew past her, and shifted....by the time i hit 85, i was gone....

however when i was doing 85 for awhile, the front end started shaking crazily.....don´t know what it is...but , i got some time to figure it out....a long time..

i love it...love it!

Cool. Hey have someone check your balancing on your tires, that could be part of the bouncing at 85, either that or it cold be a warped rotor, bad tie rods, etc. My tie rods are really bad and mine rarely shakes, but sometimes it does. Congrats on your purchase! If you love her, she´ll love ya back.

check your balance, alignment, tire wear, rack and pinion gears, tierods, caster, and struts/springs.

yay on getting the LX. They´re okay.

well, took her for a nice test run tonight....very nice......

i know she ain´t gonna be the best and the "fastest" sport compact out there...but she´s fun to drive..
like, i finally got to beat on it a little bit....just some hard accel....
i was coming thru sewick. and theres a light on the main drag, i was in forth, just cruizin´....so since the roads are clear or ppl, and traffic...i decided to gun it alittle bit....crossed the intersection, and just down shifted and nailed the gas......just flew before i shifted outta 3rd, to slow down, i was doing over 80, and i still wasn´t doing full throttle..
i love her...

YAY FOR MOVIN´ TO A 2ND GEN!!!

yay, lx yay...sorry...haven´t driven stick or an escort in awhile...so, i´m alll giddy...

tomorrow, i change the oil, and check the balance of the tires...i work at a gas station...free lift usage!!

sleep time...peace out

If your feeling vibration its in the tires, not the alignment...however, tierod ends and balljoints will cause bumpsteer. Struts and springs will cause bounce.

Speaking of shaking while driving, when my car hits about 80 - 85 mph the car starts vibrating, not violently, but still enough to be annoying. I don´t think it´s my tires, as I´ve had them rotated, balanced and aligned and the car still shakes. Also, when turning (like into a parking space) there is a thump from the front end somewhere. I´m not sure which side, and I´m not sure which way I´m turning when it happens, or if it´s even conditional upon that (hey, I´m concentrating on parking whilst parking!).

Anybody have any clues? And if so, how much would it cost? I´m making my "Escort wishlist" for when I get my bonus in March/April.

I love the bypass around my city, it goes around fort wayne and new haven and it´s called I469, it ends on both sides on I69... RARELY have I seen a cop on it, although I have seen a few...but at 3 am there´s NO ONE on it.

The only problem is it´s a BIG circle basically so it´s hard to hold 110 mph on it. But I have held my own at 116+/- a few mph.

Well the thing is, it doesn´t shake continuously, it will kind of build up, shake, and then die down, all taking about 2 seconds, then it will not shake for another two seconds, then it will shake again, and again, and again... you get the idea.

Anyway, it doesn´t feel so bad that I´d be concerned, and I don´t go that fast on a daily basis, so I´m not too worried about it. I´d just like to get it fixed eventually.

That is odd. my car started shaking ONCE. but it just turned out to be too much snow built up behind my wheels when I went sliding around.
