i'm getting my aunt's 95 ford escort lx sedan soon. i wrecked my firebird, and this is free so...

its got about 98k miles on it. she's had all the regular maintenance done on it, but the car has been sitting not in use for about 6 months now.

when i get it, what are some of the things i should get done right away? just a tune-up and oil change or should i do anything else?
as far as i know there are no problems with it, and the tires are fairly new.

Check the tie-rods for play & check the rear springs for breaks.

check the air filter..... it might be NASTY and fallin apart

if its an automatic, flush out the trans weather it has been done or not. check thvalve and the vacume lines, fuel filter as well. and check for bad struts.

make sure to go with synthetic fluid works hella good and might wanna check the O2 sensor

I'd clean the MAF sensor.

check and maybe even replace all the fluids: trans, antifreeze, oil, even the gas. maybe throw some carb cleaner in the tank. check all the filters, and the plugs & wires.
