im in florida and just paid 3.49 for 87. Anybody forsee these coming back down some sometime soon?
They're predicting $5. a gallon by summer so we might as well get used to high prices again.
be glad you have a 30MPG econobox and not a 15MPG truck/SUV
Prices are in the 3.40's here too now. Nothing new. The prices go up and down all the time. Remember when we were paying almost $5 a gallon a few years back? I remember it was up in the $4.90's here in Vermont. Just gotta go along for the ride and wait for em to come back down
down here it never spiked 4 a gallon, it got close. Yes i am so glad i got my escort fixed up and running again, even still i can get half a tank on 15 bucks and drive for a week.
I remember complaining about paying 2.20 a gallon. I would love to pay that now
I remember getting pissed off when I had to put in more than $20 to fill my tank. Man have times changed...
The entire thing is ridiculous. The prices are always quick to go up but slow to come down and they only seem to go up when the news reporters say that the country in trouble (which ever one) at the time is an oil producer. They also raise the price on gas that is already in the station's tank which has already paid for. They shouldn't be allowed to raise the price until they get a fresh delivery at the higher price. Greedy pigs.
I complained about $ .50 a gallon. I remember when $ .289 was regular price for leaded regular and have seen it as low as $ .119 a gallon during gas wars, and no the decimal isn't in the wrong place. I remember as a child trying to guess how many dollars worth it would take to fill my dad's car with about an 18 gallon tank and depending on how low the tank was the guesses were usually somewhere between $3-$5.
Kinda showing your age there a bit, aren't you FordMan?
I just paid $3.25 a gallon in Mesa, and I had to look around for that! It hurt my wallet paying $2.89 a gallon, but I wished I paid that this time!
last time i paid for gas it was 3.09. coming from fuelin a ford expedition, i feel like gas prices dont have much of an effect on me
when gas goes up in the winter...you know your in trouble in the summer....never in my life have i seen gas go up in the winter..at least around here....in ct that is.
maybe they swapped to the summer mix early?
Summer mix swap beings at the start of febuary, it's not a direct blend of pure summer fuel. it's a mix to bring it to summer mix lol. I worked in the industry for years, ask alex he can tell you lol
when i first started driving i was paying about 1.10 or so a gallon, but it wasnt long after that the prices shot up and havent seen less then 2 a gallon since, now its above 3 and probably wont ever see less then that again.
Some stores even add 2 or 3 cents before you start pumping, down here there are several of them, right as soon as the pump activates the meter jumps to about 4 cents before you even pull the lever. Enough people pumping gas every day they are making a killing doing it that way, then they get really upset when i complaim and make them give me my 4 cents back!
i think it got as high as $4.15 a few years ago then it dropped to $1.99. now it's around $3.27. i'm expecting to see $5 a gallon within a year
I guess I am, but still I'm only 51 years old, so that tells you just how fast gas prices have multiplied X 11. I don't remember what I paid for gas when I first started driving my dad's cars, I think it was about $ .40 a gallon, but in 1977 I bought a new Buick Regal and when I left the dealer I took it and filled it up for $ .569 a gallon. I don't know why I remember, but for some reason I do. That was 34 years ago, now I can't remember what happened 5 minutes ago. lol
I don't know whether gas prices went up today or not, but yesterday I noticed the price at Walmart had gone from $3.099 on Tuesday to $3.259 Thursday $ .16 in two days. At least since I moved from NC to KY I'm only driving about 20 miles per day instead of 50-60 miles a day like I was when I lived in NC and gas prices are also about $ .10 a gallon cheaper here than they are in NC.
When I first started driving in 96', I 've seen it low as .82c a gallon. Now it's been steady at $2.94 a gallon which is weird cause gas is usually more expensive here in Montana for some reason. As far as being $5 by summer, that's f'ed up. Has anyone not noticed all the drilling and the pipelines they banging up in North Dakota? Where's that oil going cause is sure does'nt see to effect the price of gas. Then you get some s#$% going down somewhere across the globe and we gotta pay for it. That's some B_S!!!
I paid $1.279/L the other night, $4.837/us gal.
I would LOVE some $3/gal fuel right now.
We've seen these threads pop up many times over the years on here.
I'd love to pay what you Americans pay. I just traded in the truck, which was ~13-14 mpg for an '03 Toyota Highlander. Hopefully I get 20 mpg in that.
We saw $1.24/L last week. Almost $4.70/gal.
You've got it good. Real good.
I'm sure we could work something out in the line of maybe prescription drugs outta do it.
