Some good info for those of you who don't have the tools to make metal pipes:

http://www.jblmk3.com/id1_custom_jblmk3 ... _pipes.htm

This guy has been running 'em on a 400+hp supra for a couple of years without problems. You just need to sleeve the pvc on the hot pipe (between the turbo and IC) with metal tubing.

Shouldn't be much heavier than steel. Besides, fwd + more weight up front = better traction

Im not being mean or anything but why be cheap? Why not have custom pipes made? I know moneys a huge issue with escort people but turbo and cheap shouldnt be used in the same sentence. Im not being mean or flaming just asking..

or you could just save up $2 a day for 75 days and have some really bitching IC pipes made out of SS and powdercoated any color by pretty much any machine shop.

(btw, i know the motor is dirty in the pics, its cleaned now-fuel line leak)

here are some of my old IC pipes.
the blue ones are the ones i am talking about. most shops should have no problem doing it for $150US or less, providing they know how a welder works and know how to order 2 " bends. The silicone couplings cost me about $25 cdn at a local part store.

Just posting it as a viable way to save some $$, take it leave it. People build escorts for cheap power, why pay $150 when you can have effective piping for <$30? Sure, metal piping will dissipate heat better, but are you really going to notice that much of a difference on a homebuilt turbo system at <10psi? Probably not. Leaves $$ for other stuff like better management etc. too. Just my $.02, I saw something that seems to work and figured I'd share it.

the pipes i had made a considerable difference compared to the stock pieces. the stock plastic pipes will expand and have a tendency to leak boost as the rms go up. mine held .5-1psi more from 5k-7k, a 5-10 hp difference right where it is needed. pvc is good and all, but $150 isnt all that much.
