Full Droop

When I opened up the shop this morning, I had 2 escorts up on the lifts---one road race version and one rally car version. We cracked up when we noticed the difference in the suspension when the car was fully drooped out. The lowered KSPORT suspension at droop is lower than most cars at ride height and the HOTBITS rally suspension is crazy long travel!! Look at the gaps in the wheel to fender area...The tires on the roadrace car are smaller than the rallycar!

I love the Escorts on the lift in the same garage as porsches and the like....

The road racing one looks like the suspension on my Celica at full droop. I brought it in to get the wheels and tires balanced, they put it up on the lift to remove the wheels, and the tech asked me "Is your suspension broken?" :D

You guys want to make me some control arms for my Celica so i can go that low without screwing up suspension geometry? :p

Sorry guys---I really need to update the website, there's literally hundreds of photo's of Cages/racecars that need to be on there. I've actually got another domain name/store that when I get some spare time I'm going to put an all Escort section together that you should be able to build a complete car from---I think Currently I've got about 30 escort products!!!

Sure I'll build some celica arms---we need to change the inner pivots or the spindle height to correct the geometry though...

What would you need in order to do it? Due to distance issues, bringing the car to you probably isn't very likely.

I didn't think you'd actually say yes... :p

Easy way to do it would be to just send me 2 arms with the balljoints and I'll build them tubular and put the monoballs out where the pivots go. Then you can run a pin through the spindle and space the arm back down to correct the geometry. If we do it right you could have a ton of adjustability just by changing the spacers.

What kind of price would we be looking at for this, front and rear?

The control arms wouldn't be a big deal---a couple hundred each for the fronts. The monoballs, pins, and the machine work on your spindles wouldn't be that bad either, maybe $2-$300 tops. The rears I'm not familair with---are they similar to the escorts??

hey pierce my 3rd gen looks similar to the road race car when on a lift. except i dont have all the extra goodies that you prolly have on there. the best i got going on back in the back of the car is a gt rear sway bar with urethane bushings. what else you got going on back there to keep it tucking those wheels?????

I think Pierce needs to barter some parts for some web design work and get his site updated and his shopping cart setup, so people could actually order the parts through the site, instead of just on the forum. Maybe set up a discount code for being an FEOA member type deal? I'd offer, but I'm not a web designer, and I don't (currently) own an escort...

If I could find someone I'd do it in a heartbeat...I did start the process---the store is up and has products on it, but haven't figured out the shipping deal just yet...Technically you could order something from the online store and pay for it...you'd have to call me to arrange for shipping though. I'll get it eventually---little steps...

Peirce you got some stiff suspension no doubt. but i think somehow mine is stiffer. i can jack the front left of my car up and the left comes up with it, doesn't droop or sag it stays tight against itself. im pretty sure its cuz the dork before me slammed the car with adjustable coilovers on stock struts. total fail:( tokiko's here i come.

P.S i LOVE the white car on the hoist!!!!
