i have a pace setter exhaust with a magnaflow strait through muffler. some of the days the exhaust sounds really buzzy, and other days it sounds nice n deep through all the rpms. i heard that buzzy noise was cuased by unburned fuel. i also cant pass emissions because im running lean. my only ideas on how to make it run right is to change the timing belt, change o2 sensor, egr valve, and advance my timing to 16 degrees. what are some more sensors that tell how much gas to shoot in??

Before you spend all that money on all those freakin sensors, I would put it on the computer and see if they can correct it by the computer so you can keep some change jigglin in the pocket. Sure the hook up might cost a few bucks but if it can be corrected cheaper. You are winning the war. First ask if your scort can be corrected by that or not I know the 3rd gens can!!

I´m betting mony your emissions problem is due to the timing being set at 16 degrees. Having it that far advanced will really make the NOx sky rocket. I had my Mustang at about 16 for a while, the I hooked it up to an exhaust analyzer and retarded it to about 13, and it was amazing how much the emissions improved. Not to mention the performance and drivability was better.
