I decided awhile back I wanted to modify the front grill...oh how I regret doing so. At any rate, the grill is absolutely garbage now, so I got to get a new one. I don't want anything fancy, I don't have the money lol. But here's my real question....does the Escort GT grill fit the LX models? I see no reason why it wouldn't, but I just want some conformation before I go and by a GT grill. I don't want to come home to my LX with a grill that doesn't fit...

Yes, the the GT grille will fit on the LX. try and find a junkyard one, it'll be like 10-15 dollars at the most. and don't forget to keep all your clips on the LX grille, that way if you break a connecting clip or one is missing you can still put the grille onto your car...safely.

(I myself took the center connector out so all I had to do was put a screw driver down on the two top ones and it'd pop right out.)

thats why i bought a junkyard grille to do custom work on, in case it turned to garbage, which it did unfortuantely. so now, im just $14 poorer.

What junkyard charges only 10-15 for a grille?

Even my local U-pull-it chanrges $20 (and their prices are exceptionally cheap).

I also think chrome is disgusting. I've been rehabbing a house and replacing all the rusty crap, chrome, and brass with stainless steel (AKA "brushed nickel").

And I'll get a GT grill if I ever see one at the junkyard that's the right color.

i got it at some kind of junkyard. it was a used carparts place that had junked cars in the back. they made me tell them what i wanted, and i surprisingly got a brand-new LX grille, unpainted, still in plastic, still wrapped in styrofoam. it placed my order, payed my $14 and had to come in the following day to pick it up.

zzyzzx, im going to the junkyard with some buddies tomorrow morning. want me to be on the look for a gt grill for ya? what color if so.

The eBay ones appear to be cheap aftermarket ones that need painting. I'd prefer to get the real thing, in the right color for less at the junkyard.
