As some of you know, my '94 lx Sport kicked the bucket a couple months back, from a combination of valve seat and piston ring failure. It wasn't worth fixing due to a transmission issue (3rd gear entirely gone). Since then I had been looking for another manual 2nd gen or a crown vic p71. Well, a Lincoln LS Sport V6 came up while i was on Craigslist today, and I immediately went out and bought it for $750. What did that get me? A rust free example of one of 2331 stick shift LSs ever made (one of 1390 from 2000 model year) Jaguar AJ30 V6 Getrag 221 5-speed manual 217k is alot of miles, but the guy I bought it from babied it from when he got it in 2004 with 45k miles to when I bought it. Case in point- it still has it's original clutch and allegedly original serpentine belt. I intend on continuing to baby it. It runs better than my dad's 1995 Escort wagon when he bought that with 44k miles actually. I am VERY aware of the reliability issues of these Jags in Lincoln clothing (an uncle had one), and this one has it's faults, such as the A/C control module not working right (car is currently on it's 5th one), the LR window regulator slipping, and out of adjustment clutch. I was obliged to take a picture of my broken '94 and the linc together. Old and "new". What do you all think?
