Cool. It's fun to see ourselves "immortalized" on the internet.
A fellow Marine friend of mine sent me this link. He digitized some old film shot back in 1976. This was my second far east tour. The first was during Vietnam. I'm in a couple shots. It was serious business on deck, but things got crazy afterwards. God we were young!
Wow! I would like to personally thank and commend you for your valor and service! This was from before my father did is service.(Germany, Korea and Desert Storm) I happen to have practically grown up at Fort Campbell. Which serviceman were you? I will be honored to watch it again!!
Now you really make me feel old
We were a Marine Phantom recon squadron that traveled with the Navy carrier. I'm Marine CPL Justin Fremin in the video.
Didn't mean to hijack the thread, i just thought it would be fun if we showed ourselves on YouTube. I haven't been on a race track since I owned my old Kaw 750 2-stroke triple. Still fun to watch though.
Irony is I didn't even know they were up for over two years! The MX3 buddy loaded those up. Wish the car was better at the time. Had bald street tires and she was running rich as heck because the vac. solenoid puked. Have a feeling I could have knocked about 1/2 second off those times. Heck I have run a 15.78 at 175K; must have had a tail wind, LOL. I have a spare drivetrain just collecting dust; all in good time!
Yeah, a "fresher" '93 motor and a good trans are waiting to be dropped in. I just lack funds with recent times. I might not be able to even afford to re-register her for the rest of this season Springtime; I should be back on my feet, so to speak. Just glad I have another good car to make it through the winter.
