    Hey everyone i am also wondering what i can do for mods on the car. We have to be stock other then we are allowed to bore our motors 3o over and shave the head at .10. Other then that we have to be stock so what can i do to get some more horsepower and still look stock. i would like to know every little thing i can do. Thanks

    Things that have worked for me... 95 Escort
    2.0 SPI Swap
    IMRC motor on lawn mower throttle cable for manual control
    97 2.0 fuel rail
    95 Crown Vic Pressure regulator
    95 1.9 Injectors
    3.8L Throttle body
    98 ZX2 manual transaxle ( 4.10 gears ) spider gears elongated holes
    95 Wagon rear sway / bolted tight to trailing arm on pass side
    Mazda mx3 rear tie bar / Custom front tie bar
    Maxda mx3 strut bars, front-rear
    89 Escort GT 1.9 HO headers, 2" conduit exhaust back
    Probe v-6 springs, right side
    'Baked' springs, left side
    Poly Eurothane ( 3m window weld ) motor/trans mounts - Rock solid
    A/c , Power steering delete
    Alt on cutout switch
    Fan on switch
    1" rear steer
    +2 degrees front left camber / -4 degrees front right camber

    I'm the only escort at my track so they can't compare mine to another... I THINK that's stock.....

    at the risk of sounding stupid, "baked" springs? Not being rude, i just dont know what they are?

    So as to not take out the heat tempermant of the steel:

    Place spring in compressor.
    Bake in oven at 425 degree's for 10-12 minutes.
    Release from compressor and check length.
    For shorter, compress more / bake longer.

    ( BBQ sauce helps mask odor of hot grease...)

    I'm pretty sure he is talking about a switch that is hooked up to the alternator that, when switched, the electrical system runs off the battery, and not the alternator. This would reduce drag caused by the alternator charging. Less drag means more hp. I don't know how to do it, as I haven't ever done it before. But I've heard about it.
