So i bought this car from my cousin as a training car or whatever you call it. Im 14 years old and dont know much about the engine. I have owned this car for a month and the car has only one fault/broken thing. The starting motor or whatever you call doesnt work. I have to push start the car and it gets pretty annoying. So, im asking if anyone knows how to repair the starting motor, and if always push starting the car does it damage the engine? And do you think that this is a good car for a guy like me?

that's gonna be an excellent starter car for you, as far as the starter it's not too hard to replace, it's under the intake manifold and there are 3 bolts that hold it in, one bolt that holds the power wire on it, and one wire that unclips. make sure you DISCONNECT your battery though. or sparks will fly. now it's tight clearances in there so patients and a little know how are key.

if you need some pics I can post some pics of where the bolts are and what not.

and bump starting the car by rolling it and using the clutch to spin the engine isn't hard on the engine really but you don't wanna make that your primary starting method though. but for now it will work.

Where are you located? An Escort Express sounds like a European car.

I'll grab some pics of where the starter is on a 1.9 CVH engine, and a starter will cost around 100 US dollars, not sure in euros, and that's give or take depends on how much the auto parts store jacks the price up, yeah I'll get some pics for you when I'm outside working on my EGT today. and I'll label the bolts you need to remove.

I'll post them later tonight!
