i have a set of Pilot Pro Series fog/driving lamps. they shine a really bright amber. i think fogs are a must. it makes your car look more distinct compared to the other cars out on the road.

Try and get driving lights... The amber lights (fog lamps) look kinda blah. I try not to do anything to the outside of my car to make it look too distinct from anybody elses. Reason being is the more distinct you look the more attention you get, especially from cops. But if you're gonna get a set, I'd recommend Pilot, but try and get a blue/white set, they look better I think. Meh. For third gens, I've seen lights that fit directly into the the little holes/vents on either side of the bumper and look stock, I was thinking about picking up a set of those.

Er... just a word to the wise: the real reason that fogs were invented was for - you guessed it - fog. By making the lights any tint of blue, you're shining that light at fog which naturally reflects a blueish light. That's why fog lights are amber/yellow, the compliment of blue.

In other words, if you want to actually use them for fog instead of looks, you probably want to use something like amber lights.

If the foglights on escorts were used for fog, you wouldn't have to have the headlights on to use them. Headlight light negates close to all of the advantage of having the foglights on.

The "fog" lights on escorts are just retarded. Tito's right about that. Ford is just stupid for making you have your headlights on to use them. Regardless, I took mine out.

If you want foglights, consider using the Escort GT switch and maybe wiring harness parts out of a GT. You already have a place for that in your dash.

Yeah, but who /really/ uses their 'fog' lamps for fog? I see hella people driving around where I live with bright blue lights that look cool, just for the sake of looking cool, then I see people who buy yellow lights thinking they'll look cool too and then they drive around on clear nights with their bright amber lights on, and it looks like crap. Hence, why I recommended getting blue/white ones instead. I guess I didn't think he was really gonna use 'em for fog. :?

Since MOST people want the fog lamps for looks, not for functionality, I just suggested what I thought would look better. Eh?

Hey hey, sorry, don't feel bad. I have ghetto metal pedals in my car that I really like and a lot of people make fun of me for 'em. If you like 'em that's what matters.

yeah, those do look pretty good. i have my stock GT foglamps, and i actually use them for fog believe it or not, i don't just keep them on... they do look kinda nasty because they're amber, and my headlights now are pure white. but, i don't usually turn them on. I was thinking of maybe seeing if i could disassemble them and use some stainglass paint to make the lenses a lighter bluish color....
