Hey all! New here. 1989 white gt 5speed. Not running. Thinking on a temp v6 , Sho v6 , mustang 2.3, swap . Any advice is welcome. Will check out Facebook.
You can bolt a 2.3 ranger,or mustang engine to your trans. But the question is will this be a daily or playtoy make that decision first and go from there.
Hey Jcd. A daily driver with a little trac time. I want to get low 14's or low 13's out of it. 12s if that is possible and still drive it on the street.
If I put a 2.3 in there. Is it a plug and play for the most part?

no it is not plug and play you need to cut frame on right side engine is longer.
I have a tempo V6 with a inter-cooled supercharger.
Ooooo! How much at wheel power are you pushing. Is there work to get the engine in then the 2.3?
V6 is easy trans and engine it's the wiring thats a PITA major Pita. but was worth it for me 11 years now no problem with it.
I don't know HP for V6 220hp to 250hp
2.3 turbo 325hp

or if you find the rare 2.3HSO or a 2.5HSC
Do you know how long is the 1.9?
I would try fitting a Fiesta ST drive train into it. Of course, you would need a wreck to remove all necessary parts.
