Finally, I've got my credit card! :p I'll wait until next month to pay through paypal my inscription here :p 10$ USD is not a lot for this kind of service and I find it's a good investiment.
Just hope I will not be in debt with that credit card!!! :|

heh, if you just use the card for gas and a few things everyonce in a while then you will be fine. it's when you go "aww i don't have enough money, OHH WAIT! I HAVE A CARD!" hehe, then you start to charge it up a bunch. i'm working on paying mine off, down to $2000 now. :p

:withstupid: my first card had a 200 limit. then I got another one with a 250 limit. For some reason the first cards' company just raised my limit to 1000, and I've put almost 300 on it now. I can pay it off but I'm not going to enjoy seeing the bill come. 8O

My advice is the same as Donnie's, gas and a few small things. That's all I used my card for for the longest time.

Well, this is what Mrs. Smug here does:

All my regular household bills are paid by Direct Debit and I use my Credit Card for almost everything else. On the first of each month, I deduct all the direct debit payments from my account even though they are taken out at different times, that way I know exactly how much 'disposable' I have.

When the credit card bill arrives I transfer the amount owing from my savings account to my current (checking) account and pay the full balance. That way I pay no interest and my bank statement is not cluttered up with loads of small payments. Also by working this way, if my Debit Card is stolen or cloned, there will not be too much to lose in that account: my Savings Account is not accessible either by card or cheque (check).

Of course there is always the chance of falling foul of the Credit Card fraudsters, but at least they can't get access to my money and the Credit Card Company would have to stand the loss, not me.

bah, i've just go a limit of 800$ ca, so that's not that much :p
But, The only reason I wanted a credit card is to buy stuff from internet, since I'm very far from every good shop, I must have that!
If you don't see me for a while, it's maybe a bad sign! :p
