Well I ordered my clear corners in October and I finally got them today. My brother says that you can´t have white bulbs in your turn signals? is that some sort of law no one else knows about or am I just in the dark?

Yeah, I´m tring to decide what color bulbs to put in mine (when they get here) too!
I was also thinking of clear, or possibly red. Ideas?

In many places, signal lights in the front must be orange.
The lens itself can be clear, but the bulb has to indicate an amber color.
Same thing with brake lights, clear just isn´t allowed.
The reflective material must be red.

Thats what my brother told me...i forgot I had amber colored bulbs in my amber colored lense, so when i put my clears on after work all I had to do is cut off two of the notches on the bulb and it slid into the socket nice and securely...pff rob told me that you had to buy a 94 on up socket and splice it to your wires...screw that. just cut off two of those little notches and you´re good to go.

See if you can find any titanium bulbs for the 3157´s. I´ve yet to find any, but I got some for the rear lights on my 323. They are chromed so they don´t make the clears look yellow, but they still light up amber. If you find any for the 3157´s let me know!

yeah I know AZ and CA state laws say:

Turn indicator lights must be lit in amber color only. And may only be amber, or clear.

And all brake lights must be lit in red and must be red as well.

I had a friend (who´s actually asleep on the couch right now) paint his turning lights red but he got busted by a cop for it....the cop basically said only cop cars can have red lights on the front of the vehicle. So I guess that is just another way to pick out a cop.

I was sitting in a parking lot once and saw this really beautful looking Camaro. Not really a Camaro fan but this one just looked awesome. Glossy black, alloy wheels, noticed that the front right fog light was blue! The left side was clear. Interesting! Then I saw the owner coming out of the bank - he was a VA state trooper and that was his undercover car. The only indication this car had that it wasn´t civilian was that little blue fog light.

Where´d you order from and how much? My left corner got cracked last night on the highway, car ahead ran over some lumber and I got what looked like a 2X4 in the corner. No other damage luckily. Figure I might as well go clear since replacements are like $58 a piece stock.

Rob is one of the Escort communities main supporters. He is one guy doing this because he want to.
Plus he is a really nice guy to deal with rather than a Large company such as ProCarParts.com who really doean´t care who you are except if you give them money.

Sorry...but I swore that I would never deal with them again....just my view point on this.

Rob has Clear corners in stock again right now for $33.99 a set.

Contrary to what the picture shows....the bulbs and sockets are not included

(plus he has Carbon fibre Escort hoods also
)

Yeah, I ordered my clear corners from ProCarParts on ebay. Paid $31.95 plus 8.95 shipping, and they come with amber bulbs.
I guess red bulbs would be a dumb idea. I may get red ´City Lights´ in there tho and in my headlights, and wire it to a toggle, so I can make them red when I want.
I don´t really want them to light up amber. I mean, I wouldn´t mind them blinking amber for the turn signal, but those lights are on all the time. I think I´ll at least try the clear bulbs at first, and I´m assuming that´s what´s in there now with the amber lenses.
I saw a Prelude the other night with clear lenses and they were lit up white, not amber, and I thought they looked sweet!
Hey ShinyBlue, what kinda paint did you use to color your lights blue? Did you paint the bulbs or the lenses?

I previously ordered clear side markers from ProCarParts and they arrived in 3 days with ground shipping. BUT, I have just ordered a set of clear corner lenses from ZX2tuner so let´s hope they don´t take months to get here. Coming from CA to VA, that´s $41.99, not too bad.

In other news, due to the recent problem with getting my left marker smashed, and the overall condition of the paint/bodywork, I´m going all out this spring/summer. Going to do a respray, modify the front bumper, clear side lenses, clear side markers, and white wheels. Already added the 3 piece 91/92 GT spoiler and have my rear reflectors and indicators tinted red. May change to white to reflect the overall theme. Needed: a top hatch lip spoiler or one of those Solar Wing thingies. That will be color matched as well. I liked Blade´s idea of painting his turbo and downpipe white so may try that treatment on my header. Will look like a StarWars stormtrooper when I get done. Oh yeah, the side mirrors too.... It never ends does it?

Just remember 2Red that anything other then amber is illegal. Trust me not a good way to get pulled over...specially if you´re doing something else wrong when they notice, or not wearing a seatbelt or something.

But I must admit, I love the scort because of the power seatbelt. I wasn´t wearing my lapbelt once but the cop saw the powered seatbelt and was like "oh power seatbelts no ticket for that" Too bad he still gave me a warning for lane usage
(geez just in a hurry to make it from SoCal to Prescott in 5hrs time and he has to notice I´m weaving a little bit)
