my cousin´s always been a little skeptic about my ´93 LX´s performance, and the bahstid gets his cars for free from his parents. anyhoo, he´s been drivin a stock ´98 Z22 and we´ve raced a couple times before, with him just beating me by a half car length each time @ about 100km/h. since then, i´ve joined up on this site, and have found a few pointers since. and now last night we were cruisin around and goin back home when we pull up to a red

we look at each other, look at the other light turn yellow, red, i´ve got mine revving around 2300, and on the green i let it off as good as i could under the wet road conditions (just rained an hour earlier), and was off! hit 2nd @ 5000, 3rd @ 5000, and by that time i had a length n a half on him. unfortunatly i didn´t have time to pull in front cuz there were cars parked in front of me coming up so i let him go by. derned residential areas, there aren´t any good racing-type streets around here. at least he´ll not underestimate the power of the Scort again!

anyone know how a 98 z22 compares to a ´93 Scort lx engine/hp wise etc? i´m wondering if my cousin just sucks at drivin stick

i´ve never tried out his car so i wouldn´t know much

what all did u change since comin to the site? mines all stock i could go for some "Stock Changes" to make me ... i mean the car faster hahah.

ehehe yeah i only go 5000 some. reason 1, i need this car´s engine to last quite awhile as i don´t wanna buy a new car in a long time (this one´s too fun!), and gas is also an issue. (currently i have a whole $10 to my name!!! w00t! but paycheque´s comin soon...)

as for mods, have done nothing, will do cone K&N air filter as soon as i have enough cash, and down the road get a new muffler and exhaust stuff goin. currently i´m figuring out how to get my 12" Thump! installed

Revving the 1.9 past 5k won´t do much anyway except make a lot of noise. You´ve got it about right shifting at 5k. I sometimes will shift at like 5500 but you feel a major flat spot once you get that high on these 1.9´s. ~Mike

hey guess what i just found out:
my cousin´s gf (much more rich than my cousin) has an old mint condition trans-am (70 or 80 something), and they were out cruisin, him in the z22, her in the ta, and apparently she only beat him 4 outta 5 times (it was an automatic)! so, if his z22 beat a ta, and i beat his z22...

ehehe my Scort doesn´t even have to race and it´s rackin up kills!

MWAHAHA i got him again. same street, same lights, but now he´s in the merging lane, and it´s lightly raining! he actually got the jump on me, but of course pinned it and spun madly, letting me go by and WASTING HIS @$$! ehehe silly boy... though i´ll give him some credit, his tires are really old and mine are quite new, but still...
