I bought a 3 inch air filter off eBay with an MAF adapter. I thought it would be a good hp gain for money. So when I got the thing it does not fit in my air box. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem????!!!!

Is it a cone with a 3" inlet? You will need to toss your airbox and pick up 3" ducting from a parts store. Search on "CAI" here.
If you meant to retain your airbox you bought the wrong filter.
