    Most 91 Gt's have the unpainted blades. Only the "Caymen" edition GT's had the color-matched wheels.

    The 93 GT has the five spoke wheels without hubs. The 94 - 96
    had the 7 spoke wheels with hubs. In 93, the pink/ purple color
    called Iris, had the same colored wheels as the car, and they were
    the 91- 92 GT rims with hubs. :)

    the 93 and whatever other year had the same wheels were nonpainted DIRECTIONAL. The earlier painted ones were not directional. I've seen 94 iris cars with the older style painted with cover non directional wheels too. It is odd.
    95.6? that's funny.
    I don't know but I thought ABS was optional once it came around.
    the speakers are 6.5 and 5X7
    the 94 had a driver airbag, so no automatic shoulder belts, but the 95 and 96 had dual airbags, which is why it has a Tracer dashboard.
    for 94, the bodyside moulding moved into the groove in the sheetmetal and thickened.
    for 93, the side cladding was dropped in favour of a rocker extension and as you said the spoiler went to a one piece model that was shared with lesser Escorts that had an appearance package.
    for 93, the lights all changed. The refractor pattern on the headlights(actually im not sure about the headlights) and front corners went from 3 to 5 horizontal rows, The type of side lamp went from 1157 to 2357. the taillights and the amber reflector bar got a new refractor pattern as well as the bulb type change.
    for 93, the upholstery and door trim were improved, and again for 95.
    I think another feature is all GTs had map lights.

    The 94 - 96 still has the automatic shoulder belts.. Abs was optional
    when it came out in 94 - 96. The 94 - 96 GT also had power windows
    and door locks optional. The 94 GT was the first year to get a optional
    factory am/fm stereo with compact CD player. 8)

    Actually its MECS, Mazda Engine Control System. VICS is just the system for the dual runner intake.

    oh, and a notchback is not a hatchback...
    Notchback=trunk, like the LX-E and tracer LTS
    Hatchback=GT and all the 2 door escorts, has a hatch.

    actually, a hatch back is like a golf or civic hatch, our escorts are notchbacks, by having that little lip at the base of the window where the spoiler sits makes it a notch back, a mix between a hatch and trunk, the lx-e and lts had trunks not notchbacks, ford never made a true hatchback escort

    ok...what i want to know is, has anyone taken the time to measure the valve sizes, rod length, rod and main bearing sizes, etc.? if i had an engine to tear apart i would do it, but no garage=no spare engine for the time being.

    buy my engine, rods, block, head and you can do all that. I don't feel like pulling everything out from it's hiding spot.

    Trunks are enclosed spaces. Like you'd find on normal coupe/sedan Escorts. Notchbacks are hatchbacks with a covering over the non-enclosed trunk space. Only way to get into your trunk is through the trunk lid or, if equipped, through the backseats. A notchback just has a covering, but is still not enclosed from the cabin space. A hatchback is just an open trunk space and is completely accessible without removing anything from the trunk space.

    hatchbacks are like Civic hatches or a Geo Metro.

    Heres some information about the automatic version, you may want to add.

    The auto tranny is a type "F" 4eat . It is used in escort, tracer, and capri and 323. Similar to the 4eat used in probes and 626's. There are some major differences however.

    The type F 4eat is used with both 1.8 and 1.9l engines.
    It has a 120 lb-ft torque capacity.

    The Stall speed for 1.9L is 2400-2700rpm
    The Stall speed for 1.8L is 2200-2500rpm

    Gear ratios for 1.8L:

    Torque converter stall torque ratio = 2.100:1
    1st = 2.800
    2nd = 1.540
    3rd = 1.000
    OD = 0.700
    Reverse = 2.333
    Final gear ratio = 3.736

    ATF Type = Mercon or Dexron II
    ATF Capacity = 6.3L / 6.7 US qt. / 5.5 Imp qt.

    I also have specifications of drumspeed to vehicle speed at various tps voltages. As well as specific line pressures for each gear. I dont know how much detail to go into so I didnt post them but I will if anyone wants them. I have this information for both 1.8l and 1.9l engines, I only posted 1.8l because this is the egt section.
