When you ppl got your custom exhaust system install did you ppl get a hi flow resonator install or just had it removed? Also does a resonator make a big difference in noise?

Right now I have headers to the cat and free flow all the way back.(2'5 inch all the way) LOUD like a MOFO, was think about installing a resonator. Any thoughts?

Or do I have to make a .Wav file and have a vote..

The reason your exhaust is loud is because the muffler you have is a straight through muffler. What you could do is try using a chambered performance muffler (dynomax, flowmaster and so on) That will quit it down some and not kill your performance.

I got a bomb on mine that closely matches the dimensions of my stock muffler.I painted it black so it matches the car(cops don´t see it) and put on a resonator tip.I did however have to bring my timing back some(it was at like 16 degrees btdc) to stop it from backfiring when I let off the gas(the back pressure problem)but no longer a problem. You know it when I rap it out but it is still fairly quiet from idle to half throttle.I had a similar setup on my 94 lx minus the resonator tip and it worked great.though I never put it on a dyno I did notice a difference on the freeway.Deffinitely more top end grunt then before.
