this friend of mine, she's a junior in high-school (i'm a senior), she's apparently getting a CLEAN 1996 Ford Escort GT, and guess what...... it's white!!!!!! just like mine!! only, it's not as PIMP as mine, and it's only an automatic. but still. exciting nonetheless.

Cool.

I saw a tan Escort GT on my way to sell my books back today. It had those little fog lights (not stock) on the bottom. I dunno. There's also someone in my neighborhood that owns a white one, but it's some little old asian lady.

There is a guy who bought a car /just/ like mine, but it's red. It looks really nice. I think the red color kind of takes away from the ugly bulbous shape... Makes it not as noticable.

Just thought while we were on the topic of other peoples' cars... :p

God, those little cheap 20 dollar fog lights are SO GAY.

If I ever see an escort with FEOA.net stickers and those gay little foglights, I'm going to put sugar in your gas tank.

I personally think that the sexiest color (other than pewter) is black. If you see a car that is TAKEN CARE OF that is black.. god... it's so sick. Most black cars look like crap because the people who drive them don't take care of them, and in order to make a black car look good, it has to be waxed once every two weeks and washed about once every three days, but damn... it's sex if you can do it right.

Oh yeah, congrats on the girl getting the GT. The GT is known as the car that gets the snot beaten out of it by teenagers. That's why it's so hard to find one in good condition. And that's why 90% of the people on the boards here are poorass teenagers like me.

Yeah, my mom has a black Saturn, it looks... Decent... Even when clean though, I still don't think it looks 'sexy' persay... It's a /Saturn./ It's black with gold flecks. You don't wax it though, because it supposedly messes up the paint. I think whoever said that was right, because we've had it since 1999 and it's never been waxed, looks perfect. (well except for that whole place it got rear ended.) I guess I'd think it looked better if I wasn't all too well aware of all of the problems lurking beneath the hood and in the interior. Maybe I oughta ask someone who doesn't know about that stuff how they think it looks. Or post a pic. I wax my car with this liquid stuff that we bought for the Saturn, it keeps it real clean and nice... But it still looks like crap. You know that tan-gold-sparkly color you see on a lot of 97 and up mercury sables? That's the color of my car. No way to get it un-crap looking.

Now, something like a black /viper,/ well that just contains some total badassery...

yeah, the one she found *apparently* only has like 18,000 miles on it...... it must have been some old lady's car, and she never drove it, or some guy that drove it alot and it just rolled over, but like that he had to have taken GOOD care of it for it to be spotless like she said it was.

and by the way, i have a pair of those cheap $15 foglights in addition to my stock foglamps, and they look pimp as hell (clear lenses, match my car better) they are TINY, but they're about as bright as my headlights, but they shine in a wider pattern.

well, you never know..... she could have been the little old lady from pasadena, and those 18,000 miles were 18,000 of street racing, and she may have gone through 6 sets of tires. or she just drove it half a mile everyday, got 5mpg because the engine never warmed up, and the engine is pretty much a piece of crap.......

actually i just had an apifiny; that is, cars a lot like milk.

it's going to go bad after a certain length of time regardless of whether or not it's been in use..

seriously, a car with 50,000 miles will age very similar to one with 150,000 miles (both cars being the same year or close).

just because the car has 18K doesn't mean it's in tip-top shape. it means it's spend 90% of it's life just sitting there, not being used. as per say a car w/ higher miles has been used on a regualr basis and maintained as such.

think about it... some of the posts of the problems with my car that has 58K are here amongst the same problems with the people who have 100+K.

in a nutshell; things fall apart. no matter what.

still, god bless those little old ladies..

lol i hear ya on the old lady thing...... but of course. see, a car that is 10 years old with 50,000 miles, has had more time to sit and ROT, than the same kind of car of the same year, with 200,000 miles on it. because the car with 200,000 miles has had ALOT of replacement parts, new parts, and has been maintainted much more often than the car with 50,000 miles, simply, because it didn't need it. so really, by buying an OLD car with low miles on it, you're probably going to want to check EVERYTHING out, and replace what needs replacing. like my car, it only has 64,000 miles on it. the last owner said he replaced the plugs at 40,000 miles. and i haven't checked them out at all since i've had the car. it could have been 4 years ago when he hit 40,000 miles for all i know. so i think i'm going to get new splitfire platinums for my car. it has pretty new Belden 7mm Premium High Voltage Wires, so i think it's ok there. but i think he might have gotten **** plugs.

Dude... if you guys are anything like me, you LOOK for cars with engine problems.

I'm very hands-on, and I bought my GT with transmission problems (blown synchros).

I like my cars like I like my women- they've got to have good bodies. No rust, and no herpes.

I'm serious, though. Even if the engine smokes and dies, you can fix a broken engine. You CANT fix rust that's all over the car. I'd much rather buy a GT with a dead engine and a good body than the other way around. Rip out the engine and tranny, spend 1300 on a GTX, drop it in, and you've got a slammin car.

Aaaahhh.....Siragan is dead on about the black cars. I have made several truly regrettable mistakes in my life, one of them involves the selling of a certain black vehicle of mine. I used to have an F-150. After about a year of saving my money, I took that faded and battered old rig into the body shop and out came a beautiful and straight gloss black chariot. For two years, "Black Beauty" proudly prowled the highways and byways of Arizona under my control. Dale Earnhardt, God rest his soul, was on to something. Everyone got the hell out of my way when Black Beauty and I would go on our many adventures until she finally was in desperate need of a new engine after about 240K. About two weeks after selling it, I was driving in my powder blue sedan and asking myself "My God, what have I done?"
Black is beautiful.

RIP - Black Beauty 1979 - 1997

My black 90 MX6 turbo was known as "black sunshine"....

It had the black out window treatments (no chrome). Was so black it had a blue tint to it, almost like a shiny gun.

YES!!! BLACK = SEXY!!!! I love black cars... I want to get the rear of my car straightened back out and paint my baby black (The previous owner was rear-ended at low speed, but the rear pushed up about 1/4 of an inch...) I totally Agree with Siragan on this one.

Lucky me in Cali found three 5-Spd GT's for sale when I was looking for a car, all about the same price range ($2400-$3000) Well long story Short, could have gotten red one with really strong enginre and good clutch, but dented bosy (Now that I Think about it it may have been a better car plus it had a sunroof  ) or a maroon one tha twas alreadypretty fixed up but had crappy engine plus some nasty wheels that I wcould not have allowed to stay on the car., or th w white one that I bought, with good engine, new clutch, new disks all around, and minor damage on rear (I'll try to post a pic of my car to show you the dent in the back.) But the white one was the best price, so I took it thinking the extra cash would be able to fix some stuff.

I kinda wish I had gotten that red one as it probably would have had less troubles than this one as it was a secondary car that was driven daily to school (about 10-15 miles) and was just not needed any more. Oh well...

unfortunately the only scort i could afford was a 93 gt from ny with 46000 mi on it...and it's PINK....kinda purple kinda pink.....ok ok it's pink. I hate the color but got the car for 1g! So I can't complain too much. I don't think color makes a car...what you do to the car or in the car makes the car.
Peace Out

pink isn't an issue. you can always go ohio-style: stip it down to the primer and drive around like that FOREVER!
