I happen to think the solid red mercury lamps are very nice looking... and I seriously doubt people sneer when they see them on my escort (the few that would notice, that is) 
I don't think I'd like to be seen in a ride sporting Altezzas.. even a new Altima... and I usually drive rustbuckets.
