forgot about this thread. i've yet to get an in-car video at 18psi... now its so cold out that i'm spinning 3rd gear lol. i'll try to get one tomorrow, my friend who took the videos above will be up here to do some work on his car.
OK, the videos below are from a practice/driver school session at Summit Point, West Virginia in Nov '07.
I had a student in a 1600 Miata tailing me the entire video so nothing too crazy
(especially since the brakes on my car didn't respond until the third pump ).
Me and my pal Bob K. (yellow VW) blew past a classic Mini, but then a bunch of Miatas and other stuff ripped past us.
You can hear something clunking in the car. It's NOT a beer can (as someone suggested).
It was a random bolt that somehow ended up inside the car.
In this second one (below), I still have the student tailing me. The orange Austin Healey Sprite seen leading is one I have driven many times....I co-drove it last year at the Summit Point November 4-Hour.
There are some fairly recent still pictures of the Escort on this link:
18psi... in mid november. it was in the mid 30's outside, soooo as you can hear i lose traction instantly in 2nd and near the top of 3rd (breaking loose at 75-80mph is interesting to say the least). i dynoed a few days later with the figures you see in my sig.
here's mine from when i first did my GT swap in my LX
in the vid im still running the 1.9 exhaust , at the time i was having problems getting the car to run right because i didnt mark the STOCK vaf setting before i tuned it . Runs awesome now
