If you have spark and fuel then check your compression. The only other thing that comes to mind is if the converter is completely plugged but I doubt it. Did you put distributor in correctly?

you probably put the rotor cap in the wrong position... unlike different car the distributor rotor can be inserted in 3 diff ways.. you'll have to find which is which..

I'm sure the distributor can only be put on 1 way. But the cap is most likely your problem. That always amazed me they would have a set up like that. Most cars are one way only.

It looks like it might be off, or the belt is loose and the cam moved. From the pic you posted it looks to me like it is off about 1/2 a tooth. How long has the car been sitting? As much rust is on the motor, you might want to check all the grounds and make sure they are good.
Just out of curiosity, did you double check the rotor after you put #1 cylinder at TDC? Have you checked the compression yet? Does it even try to start?

2 years?! Did you drain the gas tank before you tried to start it? It might not want to run because the gas in it is no good. You might want to change the fuel filter as well.
Yes, the T is for TDC. If you want to make sure it is on TDC on the compression stroke, put the plug back in, but leave it loose. Have someone bump the motor over until you hear the pressure leaking past the plug. Stop the motor as close to the point where the pressure is leaking, then move the crank by hand to line up with the marks. Check the rotor after this to make sure it is on #1 plug.

If you can't get all three of the timing marks lined up, you might want to take the belt off and reinstall it so the marks are correct. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to replace the belt and tensioner unless you know they are fairly new.
If you just want to see if you can get it to run, go ahead and reuse the old belt & tensioner, but plan on replacing them soon. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to change the water pump when you put the new belt on.

how about you spray some starting fluid in the throttle body with the plate open and install the intake tube back on and try to start it. if it starts then your problem might be the gas.
