Hi,
I've got a 93 LX wagon. My former fiance kept it running well for me but since he split, I'm on my own. Should I sell it and find a newer car?

does it have any existing problems? If not... keep running it. Escorts are VERY inexpensive to maintain. you just have to find a good shop to deal with.

Thanks Dave. My car has 154K+ miles. It developed a pinging sound under the hood toward the left back (near the starter, which I just got a new one this week. ) Took it back to the shop where the starter was installed. They could not identify it at the moment. It will go back on in next week.
Only other issue is a leak in left interior from outside rain. We thought it was the roof rack leaking, so we pulled the headliner out and remounted the roof racks per some help we received on this site, but the leak continues.

If the car is in pretty good condition I'd keep it. Escorts are usually pretty dependable cars (I'm still driving one that has 494K miles on it) and parts for them are much cheaper than they are for lots of other cars you could own. If you run into problems with it there are lots of people on this forum that can give you good advice and help you diagnose some of your own problems.
