Does anyone have pics of what an intake looks on an escort?? And what are some decent ones? And install tips to make the installation faster/easier? Thanks
Hey bro i´ve been looking for a cold air intake for my car for the past 6months and everywhere I go they tell me they don´t make it for the EGT...I have a 1.8li and no one seems to carry one..if any one knows where I can find one it would be greatly appreciated...
I have a weapon-r tubr with a compass motorsports cold air section. Sadly you can´t get any compass stuff anymore since it seems that gary williams has dissappeared taking a lot of people money with him. I would´ve recommended it. The best thing I would say would is to get a CTA intake and then make a custom cold air pipe to get it down into the fender well.
You can´t order anything from compass motorsports right now? I just called and ordered magnecor wires from them alittle over a week ago and they said I should get them in a week or so. No show as of yet but my credit card hasn´t been charged either. I have been wondering what has been up with that.
I put in an Arospeed cone filter (it was the biggest and nicest at Driver´s Seat...it cost $70 plus you need the adapter, but i left in the stock intake pipe...i didnt think it was all that bad considering that those metal ones heat up and can screw up your car...id get an iceman intake but they dont make it for escorts.
K&N makes an FIPK intake tube (plastic tube)and filter for the 1.8lter. I was thinking of gettin it, but don´t know if there is anything better like the metal tube ones. But as I have just read, the metal ones don´t seem to be in peoples good books.
Yeah, you´ll want to remove the airbox. This will leave you with a big hole under the conical filter and you can see straight down into the fenderwell. Might want to run an extension pipe and locate your filter down there and then use a form of louver system to allow outside air. Watch out for driving through puddles though.
Can I just put a cone filter on the stock rubbery intake pipe or do I need to buy a metal one??? Do I need an adapter either way? If so where can I get one?
you can put the cone filter right onto the stock intake tube. if there are any places in your area that sell cone filters, they will have the adapters too most likely...you´ll have to ask them which one you´d need tho, my friend bought mine so i dont know.
Just got my intake system today, well I got the filter and I´m using my stock intake pipe for now. I got my airbox out but what do I do with the plug, that wire thing, that went into the airbox or that tube that came from the front of the engine compartment to the front of the airbox. Can someone help??? I have a 94 GT
