    Hey Guys,

I'm new to this community but I'm on my second 1st Generation Escort! I just recently bought an '86 two door from the original owners family. The car is in great shape and before I purchased it, it was recently painted. During this process the weather stripping on both doors were destroyed. Now I'm having the hardest time finding anyone that might know where I can replace these.

I've looked on a couple of vendor websites but had no luck. I even ended up going to a couple of Ford dealerships and asked some of the Technicians for advice. One of them pointed me to this website. Is it possible any of you might be able to point me in the right direction?

    Thanks so much in advanced!

Well a few years ago I used a ford ranger one,
it was longer and I had to cut it.
it was a big bigger but it fits. :Wide:
a little paint helps on the end where you cut.

I need some too now and will probably go this route. one more time.

thanks for the suggestion. i was thinking that i may have to go with the "look outside the escort box" route with this. would you happen to know what year ranger you used?

You mean the cushion seal that surrounds the whole door? clips on to the spot welded seam?

wow, i just realized that i may have worded this whole thing wrong! Im looking for just the rubber and fabric lined weather stripping around the driver and passenger door windows, not the rubber around the whole door. that rubber is still intact. thanks!

I see! that will be nearly impossible to find! I was hoping I could give you the good news because if you needed the door seal they have one at Advance Auto that works okay.

A company called JC Whitney used to/maybe still has a good selection of generic rubber profiles that they sold by the foot, I think a few looked close last time I checked. EVERYONE seems to have cracked rubber there! Lets find a solution!

Try metro moulded parts and Steele rubber. There won't be anything specifically for Escort (us escort fans are a dying breed) but they have many "universal" selections. If you have even a small piece of window channel left, you can match it up to something from one of those retailers that should be close enough to work. You'll have to buy a roll and cut to fit.
